Documented Grower Insights Regarding Soil Nutrition, Plant health and Their Fert Program
Blueberries prefer nitrogen in the ammoniacal form.
Why? Because the plants do not respond to nitrate nitrogen, due to a lack of the nitrate reductase enzyme.

Applying an ammonic nitrogen fertilizer, like Azogen 5-0-0, can optimize plant performance and increase yields.

Nitrogen and some other essential elements are subject to leaching in sandy soils or sandy soils amended with pine bark. Frequent applications of small amounts of fertilizer are usually more efficient and pose less risk of leaching. (Note: Azogen is resistant to leaching)
